Reed: All about it - The changing face of Windermere's shores

As part of the Clear Waters Oral History project there are a series of FREE talks for project participants and the public. The next talk is Reed: All about it - The changing face of Windermere's shores, by Gary Rushworth, Soraya Alvarez and Mike Sturt.  Reedbed habitat was once a dominant feature of the Windermere shoreline. We will describe the consequences of reedbed loss and the measures being taken to address the problem.  There will also be the opportunity to exchange views upon the lake in an informal and friendly atmosphere.  The meeting will be concluded with a short tour of the 'Restore the shore' site at the FBA.

This talk will be held on Thursday 1st August, 6-7pm at the FBA, Ferry Landing, Far Sawrey, Ambleside, Cumbria LA22 0LP.

Booking is required. Please contact Faith Hillier, Project Officer on 01539 487720 or fhillier@fba.org.uk
